Building came
A WORKING COMPANY
first.
In 1977, Jim Syth founded Bridger Builders in Bozeman as a working construction company. He built and restored homes across the Gallatin Valley for decades, and the company earned its reputation one project at a time — through the trust that comes from delivering quality work, year after year.
What is now Bridger Land Group grew out of that foundation. Bridger Land Group and Bridger Communities were added as the company expanded into development and long-term property management — with Bridger Builders remaining the in-house construction arm doing the work the company was founded on.
Today, the three divisions operate as one integrated firm. Construction discipline shapes how we underwrite. Long-term operations shape how we design. And our roots in Montana run deep — which is why we keep doing this work in the places we know best.
A WORKING EXAMPLE
The Wilson Residences,
Main Street, Bozeman
The old Gallatin County High School sat abandoned for ten years on Main Street before we took it on. We saw a landmark that deserved another century, not a teardown.
Sixteen distinctive residences inside a century-old brick structure — the kind of project that's only possible when the company doing the developing is also the company doing the building.

Principals.
Grant Syth
PRINCIPAL
Grant began his career in his family's construction business — the company his father founded as Bridger Builders in 1977. He then moved into sales and marketing at Yellowstone Club and later joined the development leadership team at Baker's Bay (Bahamas), overseeing planning, infrastructure, and amenity construction.
At Bridger, Grant has led projects including Penrose in Bozeman and the restoration of the Willson Residences on Bozeman's historic Main Street. He holds a Construction Engineering degree from MSU.
David Gordon
PRINCIPAL
David previously held leadership roles at Discovery Land Company, where he was Business Manager overseeing large-scale communities along the East Coast and Caribbean — including Baker's Bay (Bahamas), Playa Grande (Dominican), Dune Deck, and Silo Ridge (New York).
He began his career at Lehman Brothers' Real Estate Investment Banking Group and later joined CBRE. He holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and chairs The Social District in Downtown Los Angeles.
Bridger Land Group and its related company, Bridger Builders, are deeply rooted in Bozeman and Montana. This place means something to us, and its much more than just an opportunity. It’s where we’ve grown up, raised our families and made lives for ourselves. We want to help you share these same experiences with
your family. Because of this, our approach will always be thoughtful, intentional and honest. And we will do everything with great respect for our community and the environment. This is our home.
